We love Sarah Hermes! Our one time Bokja designer has inspired a truly amazing initiative called The Creative Space in Beirut, Lebanon.
Some backgound: The Creative Space Beirut is a two-month workshop committed to providing a free educational space where aspiring fashion designers from different backgrounds collaborate to create an haute-couture collection.
Bokja were there.
Set in an incredible space – down the stairs from Coup D’Etat in Gemmayze; it’s a wonderful, young, energetic vibe. You can chat to the upcoming designers, pick Sarah’s brain, jump on her Parsons School of Design tutor (yes; Parsons NEW YORK!) and more importantly bid for one of the incredibly wearable, couture designs made from Italian fabrics generously donated (aswell as eat fatayer and kibbe from Saida).
Favourites include navy one shoulder, backles, floor length dress and deconstructed, white linen dress with ruffles down the back.
Auction starts from 9pm – 12 pm (tonight’s the last bidding) at Saifi Urban Gardens (down from Im Nazih Cafe).
Bids start from $400 but beware – if you snooze you lose!
